Top party chiefs in France met with President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday to discuss a way out of the latest political crisis, in which Prime Minister Michel Barnier was toppled after facing a vote of no confidence. The leaders said Macron hopes to name a new PM “within 48 hours”, AFP reported. Heads of the two parties that tabled the motion against Barnier, the far-right National Rally and hard-left France Unbowed, were not present.
