In this week’s show we shine the spotlight on France’s “banlieues”: the low-income neighbourhoods that are on the periphery of the country’s largest cities. On September 17th and 18th, the first ever “banlieue economic forum” took place in Paris – providing an opportunity for the businesses, associations and politicians of these suburbs to brainstorm on the best ways to stimulate local economic growth.
