French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday made a rare public appearance with his ex-premier Edouard Philippe in Le Havre to commemorate the port’s 1944 liberation from Nazi occupation. Philippe has criticised Macron’s decision to call for snap legislative elections and last week announced his intention of running in the 2027 presidential election.
